Take a walk along the River Ness towards the Ness Islands and take in the sights as you pass the Castle, Cathedral and Eden Court Theatre. Continue on and you will reach Whin Park with a 'duck/boating pond for a nice picnic. Near by are tennis courts and bowling greens.
The local sports centre, the Aquadome, for those still wanting to keep fit on their holidays, is about 10/15 mins walk from the house.
For those who like the outdoors there is plenty to do, from walking on the Scottish mountains, cycling down Nevis range, Fishing for salmon or 'Nessie' watching! There are Golf courses in Inverness and surrounding areas - Nairn has 2 championship courses, or there is Strathpeffer and Muir of Ord close by.
Take a boat trip down the Caledonian Canal onto Loch Ness and take in the unforgettable views as you come to Urquhart Castle. Go to Culloden Battlefield to learn about the history of the great battle in 1746 - about 5/10 min drive from house. |
